After each triathlon I complete, I reflect on how I performed: what I could have done better and start planning how I shall perform better for the next event.
As some of you may know, I have completed my first triathlon of the year. This was one of my biggest achievements because, I was returning from injury. I had a shoulder operation in December and only three weeks before the Lisbon Triathlon, I doubted whether I could race.
Lisbon Olympic Triathlon – The Results
What I loved the most about Lisbon Olympic Triathlon was my strength and resolution to “just keep running at all costs DO NOT STOP.
For me it was not just about the participating, it was about knowing that if I stopped running, then what was the point of all the years of training? OR of having a shoulder operation and overcoming the difficulties in returning to Triathlons post op? IT WAS NOT ENOUGH TO PARTICIPATE, I HAD TO GIVE IT ALL and just keep running.
This strength of mind gave me strength to perform and I completed the Lisbon Olympic Triathlon in 3 hours: 7 minutes and 25 seconds. A personal best and great for only 2 months training and being a stone overweight!
